As a teacher Eric strives to create a spacious, calm, safe yet challenging environment for students to explore the postures. His classes combine concise explanations, supportive hands-on adjustments, an energizing flow and deep holds. Eric’s relaxed and grounded manner will leave you feeling serene. Discovering yoga during one of life’s “rough patches” Eric found it to be a potent catalyst for his personal healing. He has completed Level I & II teacher trainings with Baron Baptiste. In his native city of Seattle Eric studied extensively with master Baptiste instructor Lisa Black. He also credits Ana Forrest and Shiva Rea, among others, with influencing his practice and teaching. He did his certification training with 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in Seattle.
After 16 years as a Registered Nurse, specializing in the fields of intensive care and stem cell or bone marrow transplantation, Eric decided that he wanted to direct his life energies toward health promotion and disease prevention as opposed to disease combat. He briefly considered a career in academia but owing to his independent and creative nature he instead opted to leave the health care profession to pursue teaching yoga full-time. “Ah but beware,” intoned his vedic astrologer Robert Koch, “Your life in the healing arts is not over. Your first 40 years has been dedicated to working as a healer on the physical plane. Your next 40 years will be dedicated to healing on the metaphysical plane.”
